A Case Study

McDermott E, Simon D. Wounds UK poster; 2013 (document production stamp 5 November 2013).

Study type
Case study poster
Study size
1 patient (55-year-old woman)

Single case using CoFlex TLC with Malodour Control over a gelling-fibre dressing; the wound was still healing at the time of the poster.

Key findings

  • Healthy granulation tissue appeared and wound depth reduced within the first week.
  • The foam layer with cyclodextrin managed the odour, which had been the patient’s biggest concern; patient and staff noted improved odour and exudate control.
  • From the first application the patient could wear her own footwear and reported the bandage as comfortable, helping relieve wound pain.
  • No bandage slippage was seen during the case study.
  • The patient returned to work and the wound continued to improve.
